Cotopaxi National Park
| Visiting Cotopaxi National Park led by a Naturalist guide is a different experience. There are many other places that you can have access and prominent lectures about the Upper Andes you can have. The national park is ideal to find species of flower and fauna of the upper Andes such as the Andean Condor, caracaras and humming birds. If the climate permits it, for those with most adventure spirit exist a regular ascension until the Refuge and the glacial at ( 4.800 meters). There are other attractions as the Inca Ruins of El Salitre and remote areas of wild life like creeks and lakes. A rewarding hot lunch will be served at a historical hacienda on the skirts of the volcano. |
Quilotoa Crater Lake
| With turquoise water this volcanic lake is the most precious hidden treasure of the Western range of Los Andes. Sigchos and Illiniza National Park
![]() |
Illiniza is a very rare snow caped volcano to bee seeing, because of its position at the Toachi Canyon that connects the Andes and the Ocean Pacific. Sigchos is the most remote town in Ecuador. The drive in this “dry” moor land is spectacular because of the view, its people and the loneliness of the area. We will often see a few I habitats walking back home with their llamas! |
The village of Zumbahua
| There is the most authentic Indian market of the Andes on Saturday. Here you can still see primate trade as barter. Trucks full of bananas come from the coast to trade with potatoes or beans. This is also the ideal opportunity to buy a new traditional dress, the main mean of transportations are llamas like before the INCAS. The village is located on the edge of lahars from the last Eruption of Quilotoa in 1740. Our very close and special relationship with the community will aloud you to approach the shy inhabitants and share with them a few pictures. |
