Equatorial line + Chocó Cloud Forest

Time:  full day
Operation day: Daily 07:30 a.m.

The Collared Inca, Coeligena torquata

It is part of the Chocó bio geographical corridor characterized by the biodiversity.  We want to show you hundreds of Orchids and bromeliads hanging from the trees and dozens of birds where hummingbirds are the most common.  Our hummingbirds farm hold 39 species in freedom that you can admire but there are thousands of them flying around your head! Lunch will be served at Bellavista reserve.

On the western slopes of Pichincha at the edge of the Chocó bio-geographic region and right where the cloud forest begins, our head ornithologist found 60 acres of land and turn them into the sanctuary of hummingbirds. There are days where you can count 3000 individuals of 39 species in his back yard.

Chocó bio geographical Corridor

There are hundreds of little birds of all colors and shapes flying around your head. Lunch will be served in the area at an incredible tree house. In the afternoon and on the way back we stop at the “real” equatorial line to experience what is it really about.

15 minutes north of the capital City is found the brief monument to the French Geodesic Expedition that in 1736 measured a circumference arch of earth in order to determine its shape and exact size, an extremely educational experience our program also includes a half day trek in the Cloud Forest of Tandayapa.
